The problem
Taking on a new client at an accounting firm means chasing ID documents, AML checks, engagement letters, HMRC authorisation and Companies House details across a string of emails, PDFs and portals. Then someone types it all into the practice software. It's slow for the firm and off-putting for the client.
What I did
I designed and built Cliénta, a multi-tenant platform each firm runs under its own brand:
- Clients get a secure magic link, with no account needed, and work through a guided flow that auto-fills from Companies House and saves as they go.
- Built-in AML and ID checks (SmartSearch, Veriff and others), e-signing, and HMRC agent authorisation.
- On sign-off, the client syncs into Xero, FreeAgent, Sage or QuickBooks.
- Developer API, signed webhooks, MFA and role-based access for larger firms.
- Backed by more than 1,800 automated tests.
The result
- Live, with plans from £79 a month.
- Each firm gets its own branded portal at its own web address.
